Not too far from New Orleans is the town of Slidale which has many tours of it’s Honey Island Swamp. If the Travel Channel ever offers me a show it will be called Tourist Stuff. I’m drawn to all the slightly silly, occasionally historic, attractions that more often than not use large billboards and colorful brochures to get their business.
As far as swamp tours go, maybe November isn’t the best time to go on one. But November was wen I was there, so that was when I went. The tour guide was a nice enough fellow and we did see an alligator and a lot of birds of one sort or another. The weather was cool, but not cold and I’m not sure how much I would have liked spending an hour and a half in the swamp in the summer heat and humidity.
My fine art photography of the swamp has been tweaked in Photoshop and Lightroom. Many of the images are HDR conversions. One is a digital infrared capture. All my fine art photography is for sale.
